Kids City Borne
Kids City indoor play centre isn’t just any old indoor play centre for children aged 0 to 12 – we don’t do ‘run-of-the-mill’ here. We have a pirate-themed venue, a large indoor play area, a ‘nappy-changing zone’ for children aged 0 to 4, and the best pirates around. On our pirate ship brimming with fun, safety and challenging play go hand in hand with a friendly atmosphere, delicious food and entertainment. Monkey Town Almelo/Enschede
Come and play, climb and scramble around in Almelo’s most fun indoor playground (with air conditioning)! Make your way through the large play structures and whizz down from the highest point on the various slides. De Waarbeek

't Weusthag Children’s Farm
At 't Weusthag Children’s Farm in Hengelo, children can learn a lot about nature and the lives of farm animals through the various games and information boards on the grounds. 't Weusthag is one of the largest children’s farms in the region.
In the barn, in the farmyard and in the meadows, children can meet all sorts of farm animals, such as Blue the miniature horse, Pico the donkey, Dunya the cow, goats, sheep, a rhea, rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens.There is a cuddle corner especially for younger children. Next to the petting zoo, there is an information desk and a visitor centre. The visitor centre hosts exhibitions throughout the year on nature and the environment.

Emsflower
Emsflower: a really great find! Did you know that, just 15 minutes across the border from De Lutte, you’ll find Europe’s largest nursery for bedding and pot plants? At Erlebnispark Emsflower, you can take a look behind the scenes at the nursery, but there’s much more to it than that. An ideal day out, even on days when the weather’s bad!
The Erlebnispark has recently been refurbished, and a lovely natural indoor playground has been added for the children.You can also visit the Butterfly Garden. More than 1,000 butterflies fly around freely here. And you can observe the butterfly’s life cycle at close quarters.

Avatarz Tree Climbing Adventure near Hulsbeek
AvaTarZ boasts the largest tree climbing adventure park in the Netherlands, with challenges varying in both height and difficulty. For children aged 6 to 9, there are around 30 exciting obstacles and four zip lines at heights of 2 to 4 metres. Thanks to the safe belay system, kids can tackle the course unaccompanied: how cool is that?! For older children and adults, the high-altitude climbing course offers a further six routes packed with daring obstacles. At a height of 12 metres, you’ll even find the longest zipline in the Netherlands – the perfect way to round off your visit! Bornerbroek Gnome Trail
Every spring, the Gnome Trail opens in the beautiful woods surrounding the Nivonhuis in Bornerbroek. Children can run around, explore and go in search of gnomes. They’ll receive a gnome hat, a knapsack, gnome lemonade and a real gnome certificate!

Kaamps Estate (Deurningen)
Would you like to introduce your children to farm life? Then a visit to Kaamps Estate is highly recommended. There’s a small playground, there are animals, and you can pop into the cowshed via the discovery trail to have a look at the cows. On your left, you’ll see how cheese is made, and on your right, you’ll find yourself face to face with the cows.

Groot Twentsch Maize Maze (Fleringen)
The Groot Twentsch Maize Maze opens in July and runs until early October. You can set off on an adventure together amongst the maize and then pick a fresh bouquet of wild flowers in the picking garden. The site features trampolines, a pit full of maize to play in (a sort of ball pit but with maize) and much more besides.

Zoo just across the border!
Just across the border, you’ll find a number of zoos. These include the zoo in Nordhorn, Naturzoo Rheine, the zoo in Osnabrück and the Allwetterzoo in Münster.

Morskieft Playground, Reutum
Kids can have a brilliant time in the large outdoor playground. From a cable car to a seesaw, and from slides to family swings! Fun for young and old alike! It’s a great day out even in bad weather. From the playground, you can walk straight into the indoor play area. It’s just as much fun to play here too. Trampolines, seesaws, a haunted house, building blocks and cool climbing frames. Inside, there is special sand so that children can play safely. Wonderryck Denekamp
Denekamp is home to the Netherlands’ oldest natural history museum: Natura Docet Wonderryck. It really is a museum for all ages. The museum’s ‘chambers of wonders’ house a vast collection of extraordinary animals and fossils. In the Funky Forest, you can build your own forest, and you can round off your visit in the fantastic garden café. Fun activities are always organised during the school holidays.

Oyfo Technology Museum in Hengelo
The Oyfo Technology Museum is just a short walk from Hengelo Central Station. It’s a really cool and interactive museum entirely dedicated to technology. During the holidays, you can once again create fun, funny or interesting technical DIY kits at the Oyfo Technology Museum! In the museum shop, you can see all the things you can make. Think of a brush robot, a ghost lock, or a butterfly that flies around powered by solar energy.

De Holterberg Nature Museum (Holten)
Opposite Woody’s in Holten, you’ll find De Holterberg Nature Museum. The museum is suitable for all ages, and during the school holidays there are always various children’s activities organised. The museum offers a children’s treasure hunt, so the children can have fun exploring the museum. After your visit to the museum, a trip to Daantje Das’s Forest on the other side of the road is definitely recommended!
